Microsoft CRM 4.0 (Titan) Features Overview

Microsoft CRM 4.0 is almost here!

Yes, version 3.0 is great but Microsoft CRM 4.0 (code named Titan) rocks. Microsoft finally lifted the NDA restrictions on October 1st so we can finally share with you what we can all look forward to in version 4.0.

If you were lucky enough to attend any of Navint's client summits in New England or New York, then you already saw and heard a bunch of what follows. If not then here's the top ten Titan features list that Mike Cross, Kris Kratky and I put together for Navint's recent client summits.

Note: There's one more Navint client summit scheduled on October 25th in LA for our West Coast clients.

In CRM 4.0, can I:

- Create a new custom Activity (not just modify an existing one)?
- Have more than one business unit per physical server?

Thanks,
Tim in DC

Tim -

To answer your questions:

- Custom activities are not supported. Just out of curiousity, what kind of activity were you think of?

- Yes, Microsoft CRM 4.0 supports intra-enterprise deployments where multiple business units can leverage the same server hardware. This is one of the major benefits of multi-tenancy.

Thanks for writing,

Seth

In crm 4.0:
1. Is it possible to handle approval for each entry.
2. Unit of measure: How to handle create a price list with the base unit and give a possibilities to select higher quantities in quote or order.
Ex: Price list created for single unit but, I want to assign Box or Cotton for different products

Thanks

Hi,with crm 3.0 outlook client we can only connect from outside the domain by setting up a VPN connection. Is this solved in CRM 4.0?

Hi I wanted to integrate an external Server Database with CRM Database.

Is it possible to update on the fly based on the source database update since all the masters maintained in another one Database which is in same network.

If possible please suggest me the best approach.

Thanks,
Natarajan
